July 2004

The TDR Working Group on and Applied Genomics to Drugs and Diagnostics
[workplan], established by the Committee on Pathogenesis and Applied Genomics [workplan], met in Boston, Massachusetts, USA in July 8-11, 2004, to deliberate and recommend projects for funding by TDR. The projects listed below were selected from among a large number of applications received from investigators worldwide. The grants will be funded as one-year pilot projects.

New grants in genome to drugs and diagnostics

These grants will be funded for one year in the first instance, and for an additional year if sufficient progress is made in the first year toward reaching the scientific objectives, and if sufficient funds are available.

TDR expresses sincere gratitude to members of the Working Group and to external reviewers for their critical assessment and contributions to the selection process.

TDR would also like to thank those investigators who were not funded.  A large number of projects were reviewed but only a few selected due to the highly competitive selection process; TDR would like to encourage those investigators who were not successful this time to continue their good work and to re-compete for funding next year.
